7.1.7 – Initiatives taken by the institution to make the campus eco-friendly (at least five)
Public Transport: The students and faculty of Karpagam Academy of Higher
Education, who stay in faraway areas, prefer to use public transport facility.
It is environmental beneficial to the society and economically beneficial to
the students and faculty too.Further, thetransportation facility is offered by
the institution do play a major part in reducing the pollution. Since the
inception, the college provides transportation facilities for faculty and
students. This has greatly reduced the usage of private transportation by
students which immensely helps in reducing the carbon imprints inside the
campus. The students and staffs are encouraged to use public transportation
than private ones. Bicycles are provided in the campus for commuting. The above
said green practices help a lot not only in cutting off the expenditures but in
providing an environment which is absolutely ecofriendly. Pedestrian Friendly
Roads: The campus has well laid footpaths for pedestrians with beautiful
canopies on both the sides. This provides an aesthetic appeal and soothes the
