5.6 Details of student counselling and career guidance

Counselling is given to the Students on continuous basis in the institution. Both individual and group
counselling are given on the need basis by the professionally qualified counsellor of KAHE

In the Academic Year 2017-18, 30 Group Counselling and 209 individual counselling were given to
the students. Group counselling was given on Interpersonal Skills, Gender Equality, Relationship with
Parents and Teachers, Health, Hygiene, Dress code Yoga and Meditation. In the Individual
Counselling problems related to the Family, Friends, Education and Ethics are discussed.

Career Guidance

Career Guidance is given in the class rooms on regular basis by the faculty members. The mentors
interact with the students and give personalised guidance. The placement cell provides information on
discipline specific opportunities available. Alumni were invited to deliver motivational talks and
during the interaction students were made aware of the different careers to choose.

Workshops /Guest lecturers were organised to motivate students to develop entrepreneurial skills and
become self employed. During the course of counselling also career guidance is given.
