6.10 What efforts are made by the University to promote autonomy in the affiliated/constituent
colleges?

6.11 Activities and support from the Alumni Association

➢ Alumni Association collects the feedback from the Alumni during the Convocation and the
alumni meetings. In order to gear up the activities, it was decided to have the Committee
meeting once in a month and 4 such meetings were held after that Annual meeting of the
Alumni “Alumni Meet 2017” was conducted in April 2017.

➢ For the benefit of the final year students, it was decided to organise motivational talks by the
Alumni in all the disciplines.

➢ The Alumni have contributed a sum of Rs. 40, 47, 000/- to the KAHE in the academic year
2016-17.

6.12 Activities and support from the Parent – Teacher Association

➢ Meeting with the parents was organised and the feedback received were analysed for further
action. The respective departments took initiative for meeting the parents.

6.13 Development programmes for the supporting staff

The following programmes were conducted for the supporting staff:

➢ Maintenance of stores and laboratories.
➢ Workshop on improving the Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills.
➢ Workshop on “Engine Systems (Engine dismantling and Assembling)”.
➢ Quality improvement programmes.
➢ Yoga Classes.

6.14 Initiatives taken by the institution to make the campus eco-friendly

➢ Reuse of waste water after treating through the Sewage Treatment Plant.
➢ Installation of 1kW Solar panel.
➢ Planting Trees and Medicinal plants
➢ Measures for economic usage of chemicals in the laboratory.
➢ Disposal of hazardous chemicals used in the laboratory as per the regulations.

➢ Celebration of various National/International days (25).
