Overview

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, offers Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Master of Engineering in Power Systems Engineering Research programmes: Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The research specializations of the department are Power Systems, High Voltage Engineering, Power Electronics and Drives, Control and Instrumentation, Embedded System Technology, Electric Drives and Embedded Control. The Department has well equipped Machines, Power Electronics and Power System Laboratories and a team of dedicated faculty members who have experience in the Industry as well as Academic.

Symposium

  • The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering hosted the National Level Technical Fest “Electtricco 2k24” on 8th February, 2024. Er. M. RanjithKumar, M.E., (PhD), Training Officer and Superintending Engineer at PSG Institutions, served as the keynote speaker, delivering a speech on emerging technologies in electrical engineering. Additionally, Ms. P. Nagaveni conducted a workshop on Power Quality Measurement in Electrical Systems using Fluke Meter. A total of 127 students from over 20 colleges registered for both online and offline participation. Four technical events were coordinated.
  • The Department of EEE has organized “National Level Technical Symposium – “Electtricco 2k23” on 10th Feb 2023. Conducted various technical and non technical events like Paper Presentation, Project Presentation, Technical Quiz, Photography, Circuit debugging, Connections and Best Manager.   • The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, Coimbatore, hosted a seminar titled ‘Recent Trends and Innovation in Power Converters’ on 2nd February, 2024. Dr. S. Selvaperumal, Professor and Dean of Research at Mohamed Sathak Engineering College, delivered a lecture during this seminar, emphasizing the advantages of the program in terms of placement opportunities within the field of Power Converters.
  • The KAHE-IIC, in collaboration with the Department of EEE, organized a seminar titled “Start-up Planning and Ethical Practices in Electrical Engineering” aimed at exploring and deliberating on the advancements shaping the future of the electrical domain. This event, which took place on 24th January, 2024, sought to offer insights into the ethical considerations crucial within this sphere. Dr.G.Emayavaramban, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at KAHE, Coimbatore, was the keynote speaker.
  • The KAHE-IIC and the Department of EEE collaborated to host a seminar titled “Entrepreneurial Skills for New Ventures” on 08th January, 2024. The primary goal of the seminar was to inspire students to pursue successful entrepreneurship endeavours. Dr. Padmaavathy.PA., a seasoned entrepreneur and motivational speaker, served as the keynote speaker.
  • Through a collaborative effort between the KAHE-IIC – Department of EEE and the E-Nexa Association, an enlightening seminar took place on 6th January 2024, centered around ” Design Thinking on a Roadmap to Problem Solving.” Leading us through the intricate terrain of design thinking was Dr. Rathi M A, a respected academician serving as an Assistant Professor, as well as Head (i/c) and IIC Innovation Ambassador at the Department of Biochemistry, FASCM, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education.
  • The KAHE-IIC, in partnership with the Department of EEE, hosted a seminar titled “Recent Trends and Innovations in Electric Vehicles” to delve into and examine the advancements shaping the future of electric mobility. Held on January 5th January, 2024, the event aimed to shed light on the latest developments in the electric vehicle (EV) industry. Dr. K. Ramash Kumar, an esteemed Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Dr. N.G.P. Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, was the keynote speaker for the seminar.

  • In a collaborative endeavor between the KAHE-IIC – Department of EEE and the E-Nexa Association, a captivating seminar took place on 7th January, 2023, with a focus on “Design Thinking on a Human Pscycology”. This intellectually stimulating event aimed to uncover the strategic methodologies inherent in design thinking and their application in creative problem-solving.   • The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in partnership with the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education Alumni Association (KAHEAA) and the Center for Career Counseling and Competitive Examinations, hosted an alumni discussion on “Exploring Career Paths for Electrical Engineers.” The session was led by Er. G. Balachander (Class of 2019), a Product cum Testing Engineer at Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai. The event took place on 10th January, 2024, conducted via Google Meet.
  • The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in partnership with the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education Alumni Association (KAHEAA) and the Center for Career Counselling and Competitive Examinations, hosted an alumni lecture titled “Transferring Knowledge for Energy Conservation in Buildings,” presented by Er. G. Manivel, B.E., MBA., DLLAL., (Class of 2023), who serves as a Technical Assistant at TANGEDCO, COVAI EDC NORTH. The session, aimed at second-year EEE students, was held on 28th February, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm via Google Meet.
