Science and Humanities

The Department of Science and Humanities provides Engineering students with a well-rounded educational experience and strives to integrate the students’ concentration in Science and Humanities with their core Engineering subjects and to insure prerequisites are met within their technical discipline. The study of Science and Humanities is a capstone experience bringing together the knowledge and insights that students need to acquire throughout their engineering curricula.

Physics lab

Engineering Physics program will apply their strong problem solving skills as physicists along with an understanding of the approach, methods, and requirements of engineering and engineering design for a successful career in advancing technology. Its engineering science and design components prepare students to work as professional engineers. Engineering Physics program will use their strong skills in problem solving, research experience and knowledge in physics and engineering as successful graduate students and researchers in highly ranked graduate programs.

English Lab

A well equipped language laboratory with 61 systems and a full time programmer exists to provide access to each and every student with systems so as to enhance the employability skills of the students by importing both verbal and non verbal skills.

    3. Seminar on Hazardous chemicals in food adulteration was conducted by (S&H) department on 02.09.2016. Prof. P. Prakash,Assistant Professor, Thiagarajar collage, Madurai, who was delivered the lecture in Karpagam Academy of Higher Education.
    4. Seminar on “Role of English as a Second Language” – August 2016 by S&H department on 20-08-2016.

    Science Day

    1. The Science Day function has been organized by the department on 22 Feb, 2017. Dr. S. Sadasivam was the Chief Guest for the function. As a part of the day various activities like poster presentations, working model, treasure hunt, pot painting, documentary films and tree plantations were conducted by the department for the students.
    2. The Science Day celebration and an Orientation program on Teaching and Learning were organized by the department on 26-02-2015 and 22-08-2015 respectively. Workshop on Surface Chemistry conducted by Dr. A. Kathiresan, Professor of Chemistry on 10.07.2015.
