The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 2009. It offers full time B.Sc., M.Sc., and Research (M.Phil / Ph.D) Programmes in Mathematics. The Department of Mathematics is committed to impart quality education through well qualified and experienced Faculty Members and promotes the growth of effective, efficient and true professionals. Also, fine tunes them to face the challenges in the corporate world.
The Department is also supporting other departments by handling Mathematics and Statistics related allied courses.
The Department has organized several Workshops including Science Academies sponsored Workshop on “Algebra and Analysis” for the benefit of teachers and research scholars in Universities / Colleges. To impart the knowledge about real-time industry practices, the Department frequently organises guest lectures, workshops and seminars inviting eminent persons from industries. The department concentrates on Industry Interface by signing MoU.
The alumni of the department have achieved greater heights in the different platforms. The students were placed in Government, Corporates, Research Institutions and Educational Institutions. The students were placed in reputed organisations like Oracle, Wipro, Infosys, Zifo RnD Solutions, Capgemini, Cognizant etc.
The Department has a good record by way of producing more than 30 Ph.D’s, and 25 M.Phil’s. The Department has so far produced a sizable number of research papers in leading national and international journals. The Department publishes the International Journal of Applied Mathematics. This is a broad-based journal covering all branches of Applied Mathematics. The objective is to publish high-quality original contributions and “state of art” papers in all areas of Mathematics with a broad range of application to scientific problems. It will have one volume per year with two issues published in April and October. The language of publication is English.
